De geschiedenis van Ca dei Frati gaat minstens terug tot 1782 en het hedendaagse wijnhuis werd in 1939 opgericht door Felice Dal Cero aan de zuidelijke oever van het Gardameer. Dezelfde familie runt het wijnhuis nog steeds en heeft zich de afgelopen jaren gericht op het revitaliseren en uitbreiden van het domein. De omvang van het domein is gegroeid van 12 hectare wijngaard in 1987 tot meer dan 160 hectare nu. De kwaliteit is ook aanzienlijk toegenomen, en Ca dei Frati wordt nu beschouwd als de beste producent van Lugana.

Deze karaktervolle witte wijn wordt gemaakt van de lokale Turbiana druif, die vrijwel onbekend is buiten het Gardameer. Hij zou verwant zijn aan de beroemde Verdicchio druif en produceert aantrekkelijke witte wijnen met hints van tropisch fruit en bloemen.

In de wijnmakerij wordt de most gefermenteerd in roestvrijstalen tanks om de frisheid en de aroma's te behouden. De jonge wijn wordt vervolgens zes maanden gerijpt op de droesem om extra complexiteit en textuur toe te voegen. Het resultaat is een levendige, levendige wijn met verleidelijke kamperfoelie, ananas en citrustonen en een zeer schone en zuivere afdronk. Een geweldige wijn om te serveren als aperitief of bij vis, zeevruchten of zomerse salades.
