    Champagne

    De beroemdste mousserende wijnen van Frankrijk worden gemaakt in de Champagnestreek in het noorden van het land. Het koele klimaat hier is ideaal voor de productie van frisse en elegante mousserende wijnen van de lokale druiven Chardonnay, Pinot Noir en Pinot Meunier. Blanc de Noirs Champagnes worden alleen geproduceerd met de zwarte druiven Pinot Noir en Pinot Meunier, terwijl Blanc de Blancs alleen Chardonnay bevatten.

    Hoe champagne wordt gemaakt

    Producenten moeten strenge regels volgen om Champagne te maken, waaronder het met de hand oogsten van alle druiven en het minstens 15 maanden rijpen van de mousserende wijn in de fles. De beste champagne moet ook volgens de traditionele methode worden gemaakt. Het fruit ondergaat een eerste gisting om een basiswijn te creëren die vervolgens in de fles opnieuw wordt gefermenteerd. Hierdoor ontstaan kleine, soepele belletjes en een intenser smaakprofiel dankzij het nauwe contact met de gist.

    Champagne bij gerechten

    Champagne is een veelzijdige partner voor eten en kan goed samengaan met alles van oesters en sushi tot gebakken kip en zelfs popcorn. Deze mousserende wijn doet het vooral goed bij romig of rijk voedsel, zoals kazen en zware sauzen, omdat de frisheid en het zuurtje het gehemelte reinigen. Andere klassieke combinaties zijn truffels en champignongerechten dankzij het gistachtige karakter van de Champagne. Bestel vandaag nog Champagne en geef uw feesten meer pit.
